I was surprised at how this essential oil book was written. The author actually ministers and gives a heartfelt and relevant Bible study which actually is a great foundation from which to explain the oils mentioned in the Bible.Her information on the oils are well researched and give as much Biblical scriptures that can be or might be referenced. Where there is unclear or different conclusions by other research or scientists, she lays it all out and does not force them to fit anyone's leaning but gives all the opinions.
I have several essential oil books, but from an honest Christian perspective, this is a must have in your reference library. It could even have someone on the fence about essential oils to truly consider trying. Also was not biased toward any one company. This is definitely NOT a sales book. It is a "here are the facts for your consideration" book.

I absolutely loved this book. Learning more about what the Bible says is such a blessing and to know that it is still information that can be used today. Who know of such gifts in the bible?
Not as in depth as I thought it might be.
It really isn't what we were looking for. It does tell about where they are but nothing about the actual spices.
I love this book. Combining science with faith and breaking down scripture to help show the meaning intended. There are many concepts that I had missed so I've been grateful to have a better understanding of my oils and faith. Definitely worth the read.

Culture of Biblical times is described with great clarity in how the oils and spices were used, and sheds a fresh perspective on modern day life. It's a perfect addition to the library of anyone looking to deepen their knowledge of essential oils.
Good first step introduction on oils mentioned in the Bible. I’d recommend the book to anyone who is questioning whether or not oils are useful or even allowed for our health. Since the use of oils has been tied to New Age faiths, Witchcraft or Spiritualism we tend to shy away from them not wanting to be involved in things which would pull us from God. But each plant placed on the Earth is given by our creator for our use and wellbeing. Anything God given can be misused so learning what benefits each plant and oil has for our bodies is essential to using them correctly. Scripture references are given for each specific oil and how it was used in ancient history.
This is an easy read, as Erica intermingles her personal story with facts and faith. It is a beautiful picture of the history of essential oils as a gift from our Creator! Erica shares her in depth knowledge and years of studies with us, wrapping it all in and around personal experience, making it very relevant and meaningful. Embracing the mystery of our God, while demystifying the gift of essential oils.
As a Registered Nurse who has spent many years with modern medicine, I am encouraged to see works such as this book, remove the "magic" from essential oils and reveal the practical, yet amazing healing properties that have been in use for centuries by those who have not reliied on reductionist interpretation of science. This is a 'must read' for anyone interested in being empowered to go beyond what modern science currently allows and explore all of our options for life as our Creator intended.
